CHIRPS Reality Checks (rchecks)

Reality checks occur across the many steps to create CHIRPS and on the final product itself

Can look a 2 basic types of rchecks, historic and operational.

Historical

Historic looks across the whole timeseries of CHIRPS (1981-present)

Operational

Operational is designed to spot check our products are they are produced.

  • Does this station value fall within expected range?
  • Do the anomaly fields have a reasonable distribution? (not all negative)
